Burger #6: My Mates Barbecue at The Three Tuns 75/100

By | General | 2 Comments

Yesterday it was my friend Phil’s birthday, and so I arranged a Craft Crawl: we started at Moor brewery in St Phillips, and went on a tour of the brewery, being told about the in’s and out’s of the brewing process. We had a few lovely pints before beginning the crawl: along the way we went to The Barley Mow, The Steam Crane and The Hen and Chicken before we rocked up to the Three Tuns to watch England’s first match of the 6 Nations. Wriggle had a deal on: any main, fries and a pint for £8: I git…

Burger #5: Three Brothers 79/100

By | General | No Comments

One of my old favourites was on the cards tonight: with one of my old favourites, someone I work with, Gareth. Another Wriggle! Did I tell you yet: they’ve updated the app: with their best update ever! You can now book up for tomorrow OR the day after! So I’d booked up for a deal: Classic burger and fries for £5: of course I couldn’t resist the upgrade: we added cheese and bacon. I love the atmosphere: always good music, and a classic assortment of stellar beers: guess what, it’s not Dry January anymore! A nice pint of Sharp’s Cornish…

Burger #4: Macdonalds 61/100

By | General | No Comments

That’s right! Any burger blog wouldn’t be complete without the obligatory trip to the Golden Arches. I wasn’t anticipating much from this burger, and have dined with Ronald many many times. Appropriately (and biasely) I didn’t give my dining experience much thought: I left Slovakia at 8am and reached bristol at 8pm in a state of first world famish. I jumped in and ordered my food: it was my first time using their touch screen! The ambience was that of college, with spotty teenaged standing round, wasting time at Macdonalds. Ambience = 3/10 Nevertheless I bought my meal: a double…

Skiing Slovakia

By | General | No Comments

I am writing this from the airplane on the way home from my first ‘lads holiday’. I have just spent the last 4 days as 1 member of a 10 person strong trip to Jasna in Slovakia. We decided that we wanted to go skiing as a group, and Slovakia was #1 on the list of most affordable destinations in Europe: Our flights we were the Wizz air: I’ve never heard of them before, but the seem great. The flights cost £60 return. Our accommodation whilst we were there was from Propaganda: a British owned company. We paid £150 for…

Dry January

By | General | No Comments

I decided to give dry January a go: I’d never tried it before: I much prefer making a conscious decision to do something ther and the , and following through instead of feeling obliged to perform some action due to peer pressure. But, December was the most gluttonous month I’ve ever had, and I really want to get back in shape: cutting out 5000 calories on a Saturday night seems like an easy way t get a jump start! I’m not out of shape, but no gyming and lots of drinking and eating have piled on the pounds: I think…

New year, new me!

By | General | No Comments

December for me (and millions of other people) was VERY unhealthy: I stopped gyming I started snacking on shed loads of chocolate between meals I started drinking daily And I certainly ensured that I squeezed in 2 binge drinking sessions per week. NOT GOOD The new year hit, and for the first time in my life I made a resolution! Dry January! And February! AND Paleo. I’ll get into Paleo in another post soon…but for now just know: I’m booze free, and waking up fresh on Saturday and Sunday mornings have felt ABSOLUTELY lovely! Related posts: No related posts.

Welcome!

By | General | No Comments

Good afternoon and welcome to my first official blog. My name is Joseph Edwards and I have never been a talented writer. Writing regularly in this blog is unlikely to change that, but I hope that I have some interesting insights to share. Here is me and my ‘bird’ in Tenerife a few weeks ago: Whilst reviewing 2015 I decided to set myself some targets for 2016. Almost all of these seemed to be business related: being a business owner really cramps your style on that work-life balance thing: I live and breath Gleem, but wanted an opportuity to start…
